The Case For Voice Payments

November 30, 2010 by

Here at DaoTec we basically observed two things when it comes to voice payments since we first launched DaoPay. First of all, a lot of people are used to send Premium SMS (PSMS) for payments thus a whole industry calls itself  “mobile payments”. And secondly, there is much doubt if people still use landline or home phones in their households at all.

Well, our statistics show a complete different picture. DaoTec is a telecom operator with a scalable Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to leverage voice calls from mobile and home phones all over the world. Currently 80 per cent of our business runs on voice calls while only 20 per cent are being covered by PSMS. With new and innovative technologies like Drop Calls and Mutlicalling, we are constantly improving the usability and user experience of our services. This advance hence wide choice for consumers results in even higher conversion rates and generally, a better adoption of voice payments.

Furthermore, merchants use our global voice payment solution mainly because:

  • The capability to freely set price points versus fixed non-flexible priced of PSMS
  • In general, there are much higher payouts possible than PSMS
  • Drop calls and Multicalling combine high payouts and short transaction time – even faster as PSMS

Beside these facts, we are certainly offering the whole range of telecommunication services enabling consumers to make their own choice either paying with SMS, mobile and home phone. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us or start a discussion here at the comments section. We are always glad to talk about the advantages of voice payments and would also like to satisfy you with our whole product line.

Nexon Europe benefits from DaoPay’s Multicalling service in France

November 23, 2010 by

57% more transactions lead to a 64% increase in turnovers.

Nexon Europe LTD. A boost in usability, making phone payments with DaoPay in France, has led to a sharp increase in business for Nexon Europe. The publisher of the world’s most popular online multiplayer games has had the pleasure to welcome not only 57% more people buying virtual goods but also 64% more business volume.

“We are very pleased about this positive business development and we believe DaoPay’s service is well optimized for microtransaction based item selling business model,” states Sung Jin Kim, Director of Nexon Europe. “It is always good to have a partner who works on improving its products and offerings.” Nexon Europe uses DaoPay as a payment service to process mobile and home phone payments since January 2009.

In the continuous process of improving its services, DaoPay introduced Multicalling as a very convenient way to pay with phone in Portugal and recently added France as the second test market for this application. “Our background as a telecommunications provider empowers us to deliver solutions such as Multicalling,” explains Peter Krapfl, CEO of DaoTec Ltd. “Due to the very positive experiences in France and Portugal, we will introduce Multicalling in more countries within the next months.”

DaoTec, the London based telecommunications provider has established the brand DaoPay as the global phone payment service. “With DaoPay, you can pay with SMS, mobile and home phone worldwide,” concludes Peter Krapfl.

What is Multicalling?
DaoPay Multicalling is the convenient way to pay with mobile or home phones, e.g., playing online games or buying virtual goods. The buyer just calls the given service number and types in the order number. DaoPay instantaneously and automatically drops the call afterwards. By just hitting the redial button, the buyer can multiply the original billing amount – without entering the order number again. This innovation enables easy and instantaneous payments, especially with higher prices. As a normal call or SMS, Multicalling is charged to the customers phone bill only once and does not result in recurring billing.

About Nexon Europe
Established in March 2007, NEXON Europe is the European publishing arm of NEXON and has brought the worldwide hit casual MMORPG “MapleStory” to Europe in May 2007 and the successful First-Person-Shooter “Combat Arms” in January 2009. With the recent launch of 3D Fantasy MMORPG “Mabinogi”, NEXON Europe has aggravated the position of a promising publisher in Europe. Fantage is the latest addition to the ever growing portfolio, and offers a safe virtual playground environment for children.

About DaoPay
DaoPay is a brand of London based DaoTec Ltd. The B2B specialist for service numbers and related services is the one-stop service for global communication needs. Since 2001, DaoTec is cutting-edge in design, development, implementation, and operation of special-purpose telecommunications services.

More convenient and faster than SMS: Drop Calls rock the phone payment business

November 17, 2010 by

This may come as a surprise but there is an even better way at DaoPay than to pay with SMS or voice calls: Drop Calls are more comfortable and faster!

Enhanced customer experience

It is as simple as that: Call the telephone number on the payment screen and type in the order number. That’s it! DaoPay instantaneously and automatically drops the call, and the virtual product is yours and gets charged to your phone bill. Paying with your phone does not get any faster than that and not any more convenient.

Shortened call duration increases revenue

Available from DaoPay in various countries, Drop Calls are very popular with our sellers. Since the exceptional usability of this payment method even outperforms paying with SMS, buyers love to use it – and sellers profit from higher sales volumes and revenue.
If you also want to benefit from this DaoPay payment service, please contact us! We are always happy to get in touch with you.
